About our Programs
The Nebraska Community College Global Leadership Task Force was mandated by the Chief Academic Officers of Central Community College, Mid-Plains Community College, Northeast Community College, Southeast Community College, and Western Nebraska Community College in August of 2015. Each of the five participating community colleges has one representative on the task force so that each of the service areas for those schools may be equally represented.
The overall mission of this group is to provide opportunities for students and faculty from all the participating community colleges to engage in joint global activities. These activities include those sponsored by individual institutions and those sponsored by the consortium.
The Task Force is currently working on a three-tiered plan. This website is the culmination of the first tier of collaboration. In the second tier, the group will begin planning and facilitating a consortium trip. As that plan develops, we will update this website accordingly. For the third tier, the group will work toward the development of a Nebraska Global Leadership/Global Citizenship designation. The purpose of this designation will be to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional global leadership and expand internationally-themed consortium-sponsored events.
