Canada – 2017
Faculty-led Travel Opportunity –
Issues of Agriculture instructor, Michael Lechner, took students to Canada during the summer of 2017. This travel is part of a new honors program within the agriculture department: GOALS (Global Opportunities for Agricultural Leadership Studies). This year, eight Northeast students were selected to participate.
The GOALS program provides these students the skills and unique international experience to advance their career in agriculture! They served as spokespersons for agriculture in North America and learned from some of Canada’s agricultural leaders. Students received a firsthand experience studying the North American Free-Trade Agreement, Land Grant institutions, currency exchange rates, and more!
